Railway Train Push-Pull Vacuum Toilet System – Low Water Consumption & All-Weather Adaptation

The push-pull vacuum toilet system is a professional pneumatic sanitary solution specially developed for railway passenger coaches and rail transit vehicles. Adopting advanced venturi vacuum generating technology, the system forms negative pressure inside the transition filter tank with compressed air, realizing fully enclosed suction and pressure discharge of sewage. Different from traditional gravity drainage toilets, this push-pull vacuum structure completes sewage collection and discharge through vacuum suction and air pressure boosting, effectively avoiding odor leakage and sewage exposure inside the carriage.

The complete system consists of an electric control module, pneumatic control module, air pressure boosting unit, vacuum toilet body, filter tank, vacuum generator, valve actuator and sewage tank. With modular design, ultra-low water and air consumption, and wide temperature adaptability, it is widely applicable for new installation and renovation of sanitary systems on ordinary-speed passenger trains, EMUs, DMUs, metros and other rail vehicles.

Equipped with a complete sealed push-pull sewage discharge structure, the whole process from sewage suction to tank storage is closed without external overflow. The vacuum isolation design completely eliminates peculiar smell and bacterial diffusion in the carriage, greatly improving passenger riding comfort and meeting international rail sanitary standards.

  • Extreme All-Weather Environmental Adaptability

The system supports stable continuous operation at working temperatures from -25℃ to +55℃, and can be safely stored in the environment of -40℃ to +70℃. It perfectly adapts to extreme working conditions such as severe cold, high temperature and strong wind along railway lines. It is applicable to railway routes with an altitude of ≤2500m, covering most global railway operation scenarios.

  • Ultra-Low Water & Air Consumption, Energy-Saving & Eco-Friendly

Featuring highly optimized vacuum flushing technology, the single flushing water consumption is only 0.45L, far lower than that of traditional train toilets. The system is driven by vehicle-mounted compressed air without additional water pump power consumption, which effectively reduces vehicle water load, extends water supply cycle, and greatly reduces daily operation and maintenance costs for railway operators.

  • Diversified Configuration & Strong Compatibility

Two toilet styles are optional: squat type and sitting type, meeting the usage habits of different regions and passenger groups. Two high-quality materials are available: stainless steel for super corrosion resistance and long service life, and fiberglass for lightweight and high strength. Dual power supply of AC220V and DC110V supports matching with various railway vehicle power systems, with strong universality.

  • Modular Structure & Easy Maintenance

Electric control and pneumatic control units adopt integrated modular layout, with standardized internal pipelines and wiring. The structure is simple and reasonable, convenient for daily inspection, fault troubleshooting and parts replacement. It effectively shortens vehicle maintenance downtime and improves railway operation efficiency.

2. Working Principle & Process

This vacuum push-pull sewage system adopts the working logic of vacuum suction first, pressure discharge later, with stable and efficient overall operation:

  • System Power-On Initialization: After power on, the electric control module sends synchronous control signals to the pneumatic module. The system completes the connection of power supply, flushing water source and compressed air source to enter standby state.
  • Vacuum Suction & Sewage Collection: When the flushing instruction is triggered, the pneumatic module activates the vacuum generator to form stable negative pressure in the filter tank. The toilet side valve opens automatically, and the internal sewage is quickly and completely sucked into the sealed filter tank under negative pressure.
  • Air Pressure Boosting & Sewage Discharge: After the suction process is completed, the vacuum generator stops working. The pneumatic boosting unit inputs compressed air into the filter tank to realize internal pressure rise. The downstream discharge valve opens, and the sewage is stably pressed into the special vehicle sewage tank.
  • Reset & Standby: After the discharge is finished, all pneumatic valves and actuators reset automatically. The system returns to standby mode, waiting for the next flushing operation.
